After the clocks change in November, it gets dark very early in Toronto. But the darkness also gives us glimpses into the lives of our neighbours.

This particular window can be found in a historic brick building on Queen Street East in Toronto, near Broadview Avenue. These two or three story buildings, with retail on the ground floor and rental apartments above, used to be commonplace in downtown Toronto, but they are now becoming rarer as many are either torn down or facaded to make room for modern condo towers.
